Well, it's a miracle. We made it! We celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary yesterday on May 7th 2010.
It's hard to believe it's been 5 years since this happened...
We were married in the Salt Lake Temple May 7th 2005. The morning started out gloomy and rainy but soon after our luncheon at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building the clouds parted and the sun came out. We held a reception in Pleasant Grove that evening then spent our wedding night at the downtown Hilton. Ryan planned our whole wedding night and honeymoon and surprised me with a trip to Disneyland!
Our 1st Anniversary in 2006 was celebrated at this awesome suite at the Stein Ericksen Lodge where we got engaged.
Our 2nd Anniversary in 2007 was spent searching for a house in Michigan. We came out with this big boy...not too shabby. Pretty hard to top that anniversary gift :)
Our 3rd Anniversary in 2008 was celebrated a bit early in Cancun. We had a fantastic time!!
Our 4th Anniversary in 2009 was celebrated in Holland, Michigan at the Tulip Festival. We stayed in a really nice hot tub room and spent the day admiring the plethora of tulips and walking on the gorgeous beach.
And this year for our 5th, Ryan again planned a great night. We had dinner at Tropo's (which was great after we asked to be resat so we weren't hugging the giant and extremely noisy graduation group). Then we saw the long awaited Ironman 2. Then I thought we were going home until Ryan missed both the exits we usually take. After another half hour of driving we got to the hotel where stayed in a fab garden jacuzzi room. A very nice surprise! This morning we did some outlet shopping to complete the experience. Thanks honey for planning such a great surprise!
We certainly have had our share of up's and down's throughout this marriage experience but I'm still so grateful that Ryan chose me to be his wife and I'm proud of the family we have created. I hope someday I'll be blogging about our 75th anniversary :)
