7 months

 5/23/14-6/23/14

Height: ?
Weight: ?
Head: big and beautiful

*Your 7 month birthday wasn't your best day. You may or may not have started the day by rolling out of your bouncer onto the bathroom floor somehow while mom was taking a shower. I felt AWFUL and am now officially out of the running for mom of the year award. Thankfully you stopped crying right away and I think you were more scared than hurt. Sorry sweetheart!
Then to top that off you tried peas for the first time later that morning and did not like them one bit! You got about 4 bites in before you started to dry heave so we called it quits for the day.

*You are still nursing but seem to be showing less interest. I'm not sure if you are starting to wean yourself or just getting more distracted as you get older. I sure treasure our time together though so I hope we can keep it up a few more months!

*At 7 months and 2 days I saw you sit up by yourself for the first time! We were playing on the guest bed and I was so excited to see you sitting up like a big girl. Daddy says he's seen you do it already but now I've seen it for my own eyes.

*I took you to the splash pad for the first time and you seemed to enjoy it. You liked sitting in the chair even more though you silly girl :) On a side note and for the record, I would never have mismatched your hat and swimsuit so badly but Daddy made me when he misplaced your matching hat :)

*Your first camping trip was a ward campout with the Meridian Ward (fun fact: you were the first baby born in this newly created ward). You did great! You had a little trouble falling asleep because of the noisy kids but you slept all night.

*We took you to a Lansing Lugnuts baseball game with friends. You seemed to enjoy it but the loud noise from the crowd cheering scared you.

*Our sweet dog Baby has been having some problems lately and you have been so sweet to her and give her lots of loves :)

*You are my little church buddy most weeks since Daddy is on the High Council and has to travel to different wards. You are almost always such a good girl for me and I know it's Heavenly Father blessing us because he knew I was so nervous about being alone when Daddy got this calling.

We get to go with him once in awhile. This month I had to work one Saturday night so Dad took you with him to church and you sat on the stand with him! He said they welcomed you as the first baby to sit on the stand :)

*We celebrated daddy's first official Father's Day. He is such a wonderful daddy and you are SO very blessed to have him.

*Grandma and Grandpa West came to visit us (well they really came to see you) in June. They missed you so much and adored every second with you.

*We took Grandma and Grandpa to Detroit for a little tour. We rode the People Mover and walked to the Tigers Stadium.

What a fun month we had! Here are some of the rest of the million pictures mommy took :)

6 months

4/23/14-5/23/14

Height: 26 inches (61%)
Weight: 15 lbs 8 oz (41%)
Head: 44.5 cm (93%)

Your 6 month outtakes :)
*Well in turning 6 months, you had another doctors appointment complete with shots :( I can see the stranger anxiety setting in as you weren't too happy with the new nurse practitioner you saw. You also had a rough few nights after your shots. Sorry love but we have to keep you healthy!
*You have started playing with my hair while we nurse :)
*We bought a pretty rug for your nursery and have been helping you do lots of play time. You have lots of toys that you love but lately you are really enjoying your giraffes, baby Airedale, and your "butterfly guy" who is always your go to toy :)

Play time can be so tiring :)
*I've learned that dangly earrings are out as you love to pull on them!
*Mommy has fallen victim to the latest fad...selfies! But look at you, I can't help it.

*On April 27th you tried cereal for the first time! You did great and while you had a messy face, you seemed to love the cereal and even wanted to help us with the spoon. It was actually kind of emotional for me because as our little baby you've always just needed milk and now we are actually feeding you!

*I celebrated my first official Mother's Day thanks to you my darling. I can't begin to tell you how much I love you!
*Speaking of Mother's Day...we got to video chat with Aunt Vanessa on her mission in Uruguay

*On May 18th you tried your first vegetable. Carrots per your dad's request. You seemed to love them and insisted on helping feed yourself which led to a mess! Cutest mess I've ever seen though :)

*You are still laughing at the dogs and kitty and love to watch the fish
*You are doing this silly thing where you suck on mommy's chin and lick my nose if you get close enough.
*We took you out for your first hotel stay and swimming experience.
You were a bit indifferent about the pool, we think you thought it was a big bathtub but you sure looked darling in your swimsuit!

After our hotel stay, we took you back to the temple with us. Daddy thought you should go in your temple whites even though everyone kept asking us if you were being sealed that day :)

*You got to come with mom and daddy to a state wide leadership meeting where Elder Jeffrey R. Holland spoke!

Here are some random pictures during your 6th month.
We like to think you are practicing your imaginary piano :)

Dear Sweet Reagan,
How did we ever get so lucky to be blessed with you as our daughter?! Daddy and I ask ourselves that question every day. We love you so very much and are so happy that you are ours! Everyone always comments on how beautiful you are, your pretty eyes, how alert and content you are, your adorable smile and how lucky we are. We agree! Please stay sweet and little and cuddly forever!
Love,
Your mom and dad

Mckayla's Visit

Our 10 year old niece Mckayla came to spend her spring break with us this past April. She saved up her money and flew here to Michigan all by herself!

It was so fun to get to pick her up at the gate! She was dressed to the nines as usual and didn't seem the least bit nervous.

We stopped at Ikea for dinner and shopping and once we got home we introduced her to the fishy and furry members of our family.

The next day she and I enjoyed a girls day of pedicures and shopping. "This is the best day ever!" I believe I heard her say :)

The weather was pretty decent so we spent an afternoon at a local park and the MSU Butterfly House which was pretty cool.

She of course got plenty of cousin cuddle time :) Reagan is her one and only cousin on our side of the family and she has waited 9 long years for her!

We were excited to take her to MSU's Small Animal Day! There were of course plenty of darling baby animals to see along with activities like practicing roping and even milking a cow which Mckayla was quite excited to do!

This was followed up by a sushi lunch which Mckayla didn't eat too much of but had fun with the chopsticks :) She did however love the Insomnia Cookies that we got next. Go figure!

The next day we of course wore our matching outfits to church.
Then sadly it was time to pack up, say good-bye and head back to the airport.

And as quickly as she arrived, off she went! We had a great time with her and can't wait till she can come back again! Love you Kayla!
