You and your ER, you're crazy! Mom and I were saying the other day it's crazy that you're a "real" nurse now (RN, done with school). Those were some crazy, sad stories (except the stroke victim, that's good). I'm glad you love what you do :-)
Hey Steph! I am so glad you like the ER. I don't know if I told you but I am going to be working at St Marks. I am excited and am glad that I am done with school! By the way your wedding picture is so cute!
Gotta love TPA. I hadn't given it in the first 2 years of being an RN, and then in the last 6 months I have given it 3 times and 1 time it was just like that as well. It is amazing. I hate when people come in after having stroke symptoms for several days and you can do nothing. I agree that the ER is the best place to work!
Never a dull night in the ER huh? I have crazy hospital stories too, but not as crazy as yours. I never post them though, for fear of HIPPA. P.S. I am anxiously awaiting your high school survey post. Nat did one too...talk about a walk down memory lane.
Great post, Steph. It sounds like the ER definitely keeps you hopping. My patient last week had an acute CVA right after an angio and we had to transfer him to ICU so he could have TPA. And, is it Lisinopril that causes the random allergic reaction? We had a patient two weeks ago on the floor who had been taking the med forever and just developed a reaction. Crazy! My grandpa's brother died after getting run over by a tractor. Terrible, terrible. Anyway, I'm so glad that you are having fun with your job.
Ryan and I met the day before my 21st birthday and were married in the Salt Lake Temple 6 months later on May 7, 2005. We have three furry babies that make us so very happy! Norris is a mischevious Airedale terrier, Baby is our "gentle giant" English Mastiff, and Jack is our pumpkin kitty and our newest addition to the family. We moved to Lansing, Michigan in 2007 where Ryan was attending Law School at Michigan State University. He since has had a change of heart and is on the hunt for something new. I am an Emergency Room nurse here in Lansing and am lucky to LOVE my job! We are really enjoying our time here and totally recommend moving away from your comfort zone if you get the chance. Thanks for checking our blog!

You're a weirdo! Who in their right minds would like that stuff? I could totally do the pregnant woman though! :)
